The Security Industry Institute (SII) was set up in September 2007 to offer nationally recognised and comprehensive professional security training and quality job placements for security personnel.

Jointly established by Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), SII aims to enhance the security industry’s professional and operating standards and employability of the workforce through various skills upgrading initiatives.

  • Candidate who intends to be a security officer is advised to apply and obtain security officer licence from the Singapore Police Force before submitting online application for courses at SII. Candidate is required to obtain his/her SingPass and apply for the licence at the website:
    http://www.spf.gov.sg/licence/frameset_PI.html

  • Modules under Certificate in Security Operations, Advanced Certificate in Security Supervision and Diploma in Security Management are available for application now

  • For a student to obtain his/her certificate for full qualification, he/she has to submit copies of all the WSQ Statements of Achievement (SOAs) which will be attached to a request form. This request form together with the attachments will be submitted to WDA for their processing. Once WDA has completed their internal processes, the Certificate will be issued and sent to SII for collection by the student. For your information, it is the Approved Training Organisation (ATO) where the student last attended training and/or assessment and obtained his last WSQ SOA which qualifies him for SII to forward the request form to WDA.
