| 1. | Handles security incidents and services Covers the skills and knowledge required to contain incidents of damage to facilities and equipment, handle incidents related to fire, crime, medical and first-aid, bomb or improvised explosive device (IED) threats, search, apprehend and arrest suspect and give evidence in court. | | 2. | Provide guard and patrol services Covers basic security skills and knowledge required to be deployed as security officer and includes performing static guard duty, handling telephone call and lost-and-found properties, patrolling premises and making incident reports. | | 3. | Handle counter-terrorism activities Covers the skills and knowledge required to be aware of terrorist risks and threats, identify suspicious activities through behavioural profiling, handle situations involving suspicious persons, objects, vehicles and powders and respond to bomb threats and handle the after-incident response. |

| 4. | Demonstrate first aid and CPR skills Covers the knowledge and skills to perform first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation of basic first aid. This includes following emergency action principles and performing first aid for airway emergencies, breathing emergencies, heart conditions and stroke, controlling bleeding, bone, muscle or joint injuries and soft tissues injuries. | | 5. | Assist in the evacuation of premises Covers the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate correct usage of portable fire extinguishers and fire hose reels, assist in the evacuation of premises and the application of rescue and evacuation techniques. | | 6. | Manage disorderly conduct and threatening behaviour Covers the skills and knowledge required to identify and deter a potentially aggressive crowd, group or suspicious characters that may prove a threat to the security of the environment and knowing the right authorities to contact should the situation becomes adverse. | | 7. | Conduct security screening Covers checking of security screening equipment, directing and guiding person through metal detector and conducting hand held scanning as well as manual body search. | | 8. | Conduct crowd and traffic control Covers the skills and knowledge to effectively manage and control large crowds and traffic flow and the entry and exit of vehicles. The ability to escalate potential threats and accidents to the appropriate authorities is also covered. | | 9. | Perform access control and alarm incident management Covers the skills and knowledge required to carry out access control duties, perform foot patrol of critical facilities to maintain security and handling intrusion incidents. | | 10. | Provide people protection services Covers the knowledge and skills to making advance security preparations, establishing contact with clients, arranging vehicle security, protecting principal at place of accommodation and at location of business / event in a low to moderate security risk situation. | | 11. | Perform covert retail security Involves the preparation of oneself for providing covert security duties and maintaining covert security presence as well as responding to security alarms. | | 12. | Minimise retail theft and loss Covers the skills and knowledge required to gather and evaluate information to detect offenses and suspects, respond to identify a suspect and take action to deal with the theft. | | 13. | Deploy dogs for security patrol Covers the skills and knowledge required to handle and maintain dogs deployed for security patrol and assignment and knowledge of where, when and how they are to be used. | | 14. | Provide mobile patrol services Covers the skills and knowledge to perform a mobile patrol visit as well as responding to security alarm activation in planned or unplanned situations. | | 15. | Perform security operations within legal framework Covers the skills and knowledge to help the individual understand his legal responsibilities and topics such as the duties and responsibilities of security officers, legal authority and relationship with public law enforcement and professional code of conduct and ethics. |

| 16. | Handle customer enquiries and requests Covers the skills and knowledge required to be familiar with security related information of client, handling of enquiries, requests and assistance within limits of authority and responsibilities when dealing with accidents and unexpected situations. | | 17. | Provide GEMS Services (SE WSQ2, Operations) Covers how to prepare for “Go The Extra Mile for Service” (GEMS) by adopting the right mindset and the qualities of an excellent service professional, identifying the service touch points and customers’ needs and expectations, communicating effectively with the customer, identifying options and taking action to go to the extra mile for customers and handle customer complaints and objections in a calm and professional manner. | | 18. | Communication and relationship management (ESS1, Operations) Equips the individual with the skills and knowledge to understand organisational, departmental and team goals, receive and clarify information, take action based on information, cooperate and network with initiative, undertake responsibility for work done, understand the conflict situation and address conflict issues. | | 19. | Problem solving and decision making (ESS1, Operations) Equips the individual with the skills and knowledge to practice recognizing a problem, describe and assess the impact of a problem, generate and select ideas to solve a problem, evaluate selected ideas for possible solutions to a problem, select a preferred solution and devise a plan to implement the selected solution and evaluate and take ownership of the implemented solution. | | 20. | Workplace safety and health (ESS1, Operations) Equips the individual with the skills and knowledge to practice defined workplace safety and health policies and procedures which includes identifying his responsibilities under Workplace Safety & Health Act, observing hazard identification and risk control procedures and contributing through participation in workplace safety and health practices. |
